"This is a beautiful house in a beautiful location, on a big plot of land and good (saltwater) swimming pool. You are in quite an isolated hamlet, and there are no amenties here (apart from a bistro which was closed during our trip), so for fresh bread, shopping, eating out, etc, it's a 10 minute drive to the beautiful town of Eymet.
Kitchen was well stocked with some lovely welcome gifts and groceries (thanks so much for them, it made the first night so much easier!). If you are cooking, you've got everything you need ... literally, everything! Plenty of nice wine glasses, mugs, coffee machine, etc. Beds were good and comfortable with good linen. Bathrooms were walk-in showers (the best) and a bathtub, outdoor area for eating is large and the canopies a lifesaver from the sun! Washing machine a big help. Overall, just a lovely modernised house, with everything you'd need as a base, or as an escape for a while." July 2023

"Perfect House, Perfect Holiday. We had a fantastic 2 weeks in this wonderful property. It is perfect for a big group (we were 2 families plus a grandparent) and has more than enough space. The house was spotless when we arrived and is generously equipped with everything you may need. The kitchen and bathrooms are all modern and well kept. The beds are really comfortable and the decor is tasteful and sensitive to the property. The garden is great, easy to find shady spots or bask in the sun. The pool is heated and was a very welcome relief from the heat. The lights in the garden at night are particularly lovely. "Beautiful property in a great location. We had a wonderful time at Les Arbres. The property is even more beautiful than the pictures on the website - the house is huge! All the bedrooms were lovely, with very modern bathrooms. The master particularly was stunning. Everything you could need was there, with lots of nice attention to detail. The pool and the gardens were stunning. I was worried about a salt water pool beforehand as had only ever swum in a chlorinated one - but wow - so much better!!! The kids loved it! (and I'm pleased to say that they didn't even spot the xbox!!) . The host Helen was fantastic throughout - even helping with suggestions of a mechanic when we had car trouble! Location was great - with a lovely bistro across the road and only a few mins drive to Eymet where there are loads of great restaurants. It's also an area where there is lots to do for kids within a 30 min drive, and of course, the odd bit of wine tasting for the grown ups ;) I would definitely recommend Les Arbres - I couldn't fault anything about it, just beautiful." "I will start with saying that our party consisted of our daughter, her husband and their 1year old son, our son, his partner and their 9 month old daughter, my wife and I who are both retired. This was our first airbnb stay and our first summer vacation in France, but our son and daughter and their respective partners have stayed in airbnb's in many different countries. We all thought that the property and the facilities provided were excellent and our son and daughter both rated it as the best they have visited by a long way. The property has been renovated to a very high standard throughout and is a large farmhouse type building with a huge kitchen diner and a very large lounge. The dining table can easily seat ten people as can the table on the patio. The two upstairs bedrooms have been renovated and both have en suite facilities finished to a very high standard with quality materials. We were there during a period when daytime temperatures were in the high 30's/ low 40's so the air conditioning in these rooms was very welcome, there is photograph album on the sideboard in the lounge which records the renovation works carried out to date, which are described as "a work in progress", I think air conditioning in the downstairs rooms would be a most welcome addition for guests staying during the summer months. We made daily use of the large salt water swimming pool and sun terrace each day, making use of the large parasols to provide shade during the hottest part of the days and the pool building with its rattan suite and tables also gave some welcome respite from the very hot and sunny conditions, whilst still allowing us to be out in the open air. Once again the facilities provided outside are excellent, the garden is huge and has four large cantilever parasols, at least twelve sun loungers, a four burner barbeque, firepit, table tennis table, volley ball and badminton net and equipment, hammock, hammock swing, child's swing, seesaw and slide, the list is endless. I cannot rate this property highly enough, the hosts have in my opinion thought of everything that a family or families could want. Due to its rural location I would say that a car is essential if only to get supplies from the local supermarket in nearby Eymet. However just across the road from Les Arbres is Le Petite Bistrot which we did sample and the food was excellent, unfortunately their opening times didn't align well with our grandchildren's nap / bed times which was a real shame (maybe next time). I am sure this will not be our last visit to Les Arbres which is a property I would recommend to anyone looking for a quality property in which to relax and enjoy the good weather. I wish to end with my sincere thanks to the hosts Helen and Colin, who in addition to providing an excellent property were also very helpful and accommodating with some requests that I made relative to having the two young children with us (an additional cot, a child gate and an early check in), communication with them was quick and positive on each occasion." "Such a wonderful holiday: Les Arbres is the nicest property we have stayed in by far. We were a group of 7 ranging from age 7 to 81 and there was plenty of space for everyone to do there own thing. The children loved the pool and playing on the rope swing and we all enjoyed exploring the nearby towns of Eymet and Issigeac. The house has been beautifully renovated and the owners have thought of everything, fabulous kitchen with a wonderful welcome pack, plenty of games, books and DVD’s and they even have even provided lots of plug adaptors. "Take me back to that pool! As the photos suggest this property is extremely stylish and well equipped. We were a group of two families with three children under three and the amount of space here was great. The rooms are all big and there are loads of bathrooms. The garden is especially nice with lots of trees/umbrellas for shade, kids slide and swing, plus as the photos suggest, an amazing pool (the shallow step at one end of the pool was an especially big hit for the kids to splash around on). There was also a big chest full of garden games and some great pool toys. Owners Helen and Colin were extremely helpful and quick to reply to our questions. Their housekeeper Jean also cooked us a lovely meal on one evening - definitely recommended. The village where the house is located is very quaint, but also very small. If you want to walk out of your holiday home in to a bustling town, then this isn't the location for you, but for peace and tranquility it is lovely. The Petit Cafe in the village is practically opposite the house - David the owner will pick you up a bespoke bread order in the morning on his way to open up, plus his cakes are amazing. I have knocked a star off the locations rating because the only disadvantage of this house is that it's not very close to the Dordogne. If you want the classic wild-swimming / canoeing experience in the river then you will need to drive for 45-60mins to get there. Other than that it is hard to fault this property. "Who would have believed that hiding behind blue shutters and house sitting right on the street would be a fabulous house. Wonderfully equipped with large garden pool and everything else required for a family holiday. We were 3 single women who luxuriated in a bedroom and bathroom each. The village is small and quiet however Eymet a medieval bastide town is 5 minutes drive with boulangerie and supermarket cafes restaurants and Thursday markets. The owners made the place welcoming with lots of information provided. We stayed 2 weeks with a house clean provided mid stay.
